My books are crafted to be more than just entertaining. They're intended to spark the imagination, to help you believe in a little bit of magic and to keep you on the edge of your seat. Whether the story is for a child or an adult, I hope it leaves a lasting impression.
Some much-valued feedback from readers.
"I liked the fantasy/magical element in Magpie and the Morning Light, and the art is eye-catching. An enjoyable read for children AND adults!" - Jocelyn, USA.
"I've just finished Anna's novel Another Life. It was a great read, suspenseful and thought-provoking." - Vicki Plaisted, Whangarei.
"I've recently edited Anna's latest book A Place by the Sea. The short stories were lovely and I liked the way they celebrated strong women." Lesley Marshall-Editor, Whangarei.
"The ending of Anna's book Another Life totally threw me. I wasn't expecting that at all!" - Ellen, Auckland.
I bought a copy of Anna's anthology, A Place by the Sea, yesterday. I'd intended to read just the first story while I had my lunch, but I found I couldn't put the book down, and I read it all in one sitting. Her descriptive writing, especially about the beach where the stories are set, made me feel as if I were actually there. I'm passing the book on to other family members to read. I loved it. - Laurel, Whangarei.
My most recent work, A Place by the Sea (a novella) is now available. I began writing this anthology two years ago in 2023, and it's been a fun, though challenging project. I've discovered I enjoy creating short stories and I hope the characters in the stories resonate with readers and they can relate to the events that bring people to the beach house. The setting for my book is based on a very beautiful area where we go camping with friends and the idea of writing a collection of short stories about different people who holiday there has finally come to fruition.
I have copies in stock @ NZ$25.00 plus postage costs.
The hardcopy version will also be available on Amazon very soon.
Another Life is my first novel and was six to seven years in the making. It has a supernatural theme and an unexpected twist at the end, so...be prepared!
I worked in the area of early childhood, supporting women who were coping with post-natal depression, and as they shared their thoughts and fears with me, it gave me some insight into the darkness of PND. Not all the aspects of this story are factual, but those incredible women were the inspiration for much of it.
I hold copies in stock @ NZ$25.00 plus postage costs, and it's available in paperback and e-book versions on Amazon.
My second children's picture book Magpie and the Morning Light is about a mischievous magpie and his penchant to steal bright and shiny objects. Even young babies appear to love the colourful images, so the book is aimed at children from 12 months of age, to school age and even beyond...
I hold copies in stock @ NZ$25.00 each, plus postage costs and they are also available in paperback version on Amazon.
Remember the Moon is the first child's picture book I wrote. We know that the first three years of life is vital for brain development, so this is a simple but charming story, testing your young child's memory in a fun, gentle and interactive way, while they also learn about their world.
Only available in a paperback version on Amazon.
